Indiana Affordable Housing Council Leadership Award

The Indiana Affordable Housing Council (IAHC) Award for Leadership in Affordable Housing recognizes and honors a person who serves as a role model, who exemplifies the qualities of leadership and passion and who makes improving the lives of Hoosiers through the provision of safe, decent and affordable housing an integral part of his or her daily work. Additional consideration will be given to nominees who serve in a volunteer capacity for national, state or local organizations or events, particularly in a leadership capacity.

Outstanding Resident Volunteer Award

The Indiana Affordable Housing Council (IAHC) and Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority developed the Outstanding Resident Volunteer Award to recognize an individual who is a consumer of an IHCDA program not an employee. The individual volunteers for the betterment of the community. This can be done through mentoring/tutoring, participating in charitable functions and/or fundraisers, creating items for nonprofit groups or to donate directly to others, community clean-up activities, activities to bring happiness to others.  Service must be completed within the previous 12 months.

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) is requesting nominations for the most outstanding properties in four categories for the Lt. Governor's Excellence in Affordable Housing Awards. These awards, which will be presented at the 2018 Indiana Housing Conference, celebrate the best in Indiana affordable housing development.

Here are the categories:

Rural Housing

This development is located within the corporate limits of a City or Town with a population less than 14,999 or the development is located in an unincorporated area of a county that is located beyond 2 miles of the city or town’s jurisdiction.

Urban Housing

This development is located within a metropolitan area with a population greater than 15,000.

Senior Housing

This development specifically designed for use by elderly tenants.

Special Needs Housing

This development is specifically designed for use by special needs populations. This includes persons with physical or developmental disabilities, persons with mental impairments, single parent households, victims of domestic violence, abused children, persons with chemical addictions and homeless persons.

All award nominations are due by Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

The 2018 Indiana Housing Conference will take place September 26-27, 2018 at the Marriott Indianapolis in Downtown Indianapolis. More details and registration information will be released soon.
