2018 Rental Housing Tax Credits Announced
At
the February IHCDA Board of Directors Meeting, chaired by Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch,
the Real Estate Department presented their recommendations
for the 2018 RHTC Awards. The
17 projects selected combined for just over $14.4 million in RHTCs and
$5.5 million in additional funding from the Development Fund, HOME and Housing
Trust Fund are highlighted here. These developments will
provide over 800 additional units of affordable housing options for
residents throughout Indiana.

Silver Birch of Muncie Ribbon Cutting
Representatives of the many different partners that made
Silver Birch of Muncie a reality cut the ribbon on the 119-unit assisted living
development on Muncie’s south side. The City hopes that the Vermilion
Development led project not only helps provide housing for seniors for
many years to come, but also sparks additional reinvestment in
Muncie’s Kilgore Avenue corridor.

Groundbreaking of B-Line Heights
Pedcor
Investments, which participated in the 2015 Moving
Forward Program, broke ground on B-Line Heights in Bloomington.
This family apartment community will be located within the Showers Certified Technology
Park (CTP). Key features include a renewable energy system, net-zero energy
usage and solar integration. The site features several transportation options
for tenants including the B-Line trail, public transportation and other
pedestrian connections.

Mercantile Apartments Grand Opening and
Horner's Midtown Market Ribbon Cutting
The
Mercantile, an affordable housing development in Alexandria developed by Milestone Ventures, held their grand opening
event yesterday in Alexandria. The event was followed by a ribbon cutting for
Horner's Midtown Market. The mixed-use development is Indiana's first
affordable apartment and grocery store.
