2018 Point-in-Time Count January 24th

Next Level Veterans Initiative announced

Last week Governor Eric Holcomb and Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch announced the launch of their Next Level Veterans inititiave. Along with this announcement was IHCDA's new mortgage program. The Honor Our Vets program, created for qualified active duty, veterans and retired military personnel, takes the popular benefits of the VA loan and combines it with $5,000 in incentives that can be used towards relocation expenses, closing costs and towards the down payment of a new home.

Teams announced for the 9th Annual Institute

IHCDA and Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) announced this month that teams from six Indiana communities will be participating in the 2018 Indiana Supportive Housing Institute. Communities include: Bloomington, Johnson County, Kokomo, Lebanon, New Albany and two groups in Indianapolis. Over the next five months, these seven teams will work closely with IHCDA and CSH through a series of targeted training and group exercises. The Institute will culminate with the Finale in May where teams will present their plans to a group of public and private investors.

Amid colder temperatures, State reminds Hoosiers of Energy Assistance Program

With record cold temperatures making their way through the state this month, we reminded Hoosiers of the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The winter assistance period, which began November 1st, offers qualifying Hoosiers a one-time payment to use towards their heat and electric bills. Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, to support this effort, recorded a PSA that can be found here.

Crowdfunding campaign launched for the 'Mishawaka Fitness Court' project

Mishawaka will soon have a new outdoor fitness space, thanks to a recently launched crowdfunding campaign. The campaign, sponsored by IHCDA and offered through the crowdfunding platform developed by Patronicity is being run by the City of Mishawaka Parks and Recreation DepartmentClick here for project details and to donate.

Housing First Program Update

IHCDA has released the final version of the Indiana Housing First Program: Application Process & Compliance Requirements manual. In addition, IHCDA has released the RFQ for the Housing First Program. Responses to the RFQ must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on February 26, 2018. IHCDA will host an informational webinar to explain the policy and RFQ from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Click here to register.
