Interest in Education

The Interest in Education program seeks to defer existing annual interest payments on IHCDA Development Fund loans to CollegeChoice 529 accounts held by eligible residents of the affordable housing properties or a sponsored cohort of 21st Century Scholar students located in the community of the developer’s property. Stellar Communities

Lt. Governor Crouch Announces the 2017 Stellar Communities Designees

Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch announced last month that the City of Madison and the Town of Culver were the 2017 Designees of the Stellar Communities Designation Program (SCDP). The communities will each be holding community celebrations later this month.

2018 Indiana Supportive Housing Institute

IHCDA is pleased to announce that it is once again partnering with CSH to offer the 2018 Indiana Supportive Housing Institute. Participants in the 2018 Institute will design supportive housing with a focus on serving 1 of 2 target populations: persons experiencing homelessness with substance use disorders or youth experiencing homelessness. CSH has released a Request for Proposals ("RFP") for teams interested in participating in the 2018 Institute. Applications must be submitted in accordance with the requirements of the RFP by Monday December 4, 2017 by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

IHCDA... the Magazine

The fall edition of IHCDA...the Magazine is now available. Featured in this issue is the journey of Ray Lay, a formerly homeless veteran honorably discharged US Marine who lives and is recovering from a dual diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder and poly substance abuse. The story chronicles his journey from homelessness to homeownership.

Crowdfunding Campaign in South Bend

South Bend’s west side will soon see a new and improved park on Cottage Grove Avenue thanks to a new crowdfunding campaign. The campaign, sponsored by the IHCDA, is being run by The South Bend Heritage Foundation. The funding raised during this campaign will allow the South Bend Heritage Foundation, its partner organization Neighborhood Development Associates and a group of west side residents, to complete work on a park located at 403 Cottage Grove Avenue.

Huntingburg

Huntingburg: A City Like No Other

As a 2014 Stellar Community, Huntingburg, Indiana has a lot to be proud of.  Film buffs who travel to the area might even recognize the current home of the Dubois County Bombers from the movie "A League of Their Own". To see some of the exciting updates that have taken place in Huntingburg over the last 3 years, turn to page 26 of the Fall Issue of IHCDA the Magazine.
