IHCDA's 2017 Community Development Block Grant Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Final Policy and Application are now available on our CDBG webpage. Dates for the CDBG funding round may be found here. Please note this is an anticipated schedule and is subject to change.

On June 5, 2017 for the Celebrating Homeownership Month Event in the Indiana Statehouse. This event is to honor these organizations for their contributions in providing homeownership opportunities in Indiana.

MF 3.0

Moving Forward 3.0

Plans for Moving Forward 3.0 was announced recently. Once complete, this innovative program will help to create two energy efficient affordable housing developments with transportation solutions in Lake County. The goal is that at least one of these developments will be located in East Chicago.

CreatINg Places

Four More CreatINg Places Projects Launched

Four more crowdfunding campaigns have launched through IHCDA's CreatINg Places program. The Idle, A Point of View in Indianapolis, A-Town Arts  in Anderson, Lake Maxinkuckee Amitheater in Culver, and Spencer Park Upgrades in Demotte. The campaigns are offered through the crowdfunding platform developed by Patronicity. All six projects which have previously held campaigns through the CreatINg Places program have met or exceeded their funding goals.

Stellar Finalists Announced

Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch announced last week the six communities who are the Division 1 and Division 2 finalists for the 2017 Stellar Communities Designation Program (SCDP):

Division 1 (population 6,000 - 50,000)
City of Greensburg (Decatur)
City of Madison (Jefferson)
City of Vincennes (Knox)

Division 2 (population 5,999 and below)
Town of Churubusco (Whitley)
Town of Culver (Marshall)
City of Union City (Randolph)

Blue Bell Lofts

Historic Blue Bell Lofts Grand Opening (Columbia City)
May 9, 2017

Commonwealth Companies held a grand opening for Historic Blue Bell Lofts in Columbia City. The project received Rental Housing Tax Credits from IHCDA to adaptively reuse the former Blue Bell factory into 52 one and two bedroom apartments for seniors.

Grand Opening for Eagledale Senior Apartments (Indianapolis)
May 17, 2017

TWG Development held a grand opening for Eagledale Senior Apartments in Indianapolis. The project received Rental Housing Tax Credits and a Development Fund loan from IHCDA to adaptively reuse Flackville School 100 into 65 units of senior housing.

Silver Birch of Hammond

The Silver Birch of Hammond Grand Opening (Hammond)
May 18, 2017

Gardant Management Solutions held a grand opening for Silver Birch of Hammond. The project received Rental Housing Tax Credits and Bond volume from IHCDA. The development is 125 units of new construction.

Overlook

Grand Opening: Overlook at the Fairgrounds (Indianapolis)
May 19, 2017

BWI, LLC held a grand opening for Overlook at the Fairgrounds. The project received Rental Housing Tax Credits to repurpose a vacant, industrial building in Indianapolis. This mixed use development offers 49 one and two bedroom units.
