Moving Forward Logo

Moving Forward 3.0

Moving Forward 3.0 was announced recently. Once complete, this innovative program will help to create two energy efficient affordable housing developments with transportation solutions in Lake County. The goal is that at least one of these developments will be located in East Chicago.

Four More CreatINg Places Projects Launched

Four more crowdfunding campaigns have launched through IHCDA's CreatINg Places program. The Idle, A Point of View in Indianapolis, A-Town Arts  in Anderson, Lake Maxinkuckee Amitheater in Culver, and Spencer Park Upgrades in Demotte. The campaigns are offered through the crowdfunding platform developed by Patronicity. All six projects which have previously held campaigns through the CreatINg Places program have met or exceeded their funding goals.

Stellar Finalists Announced

Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch announced last week the six communities who are the Division 1 and Division 2 finalists for the 2017 Stellar Communities Designation Program (SCDP):

Division 1 (population 6,000 - 50,000)
City of Greensburg (Decatur)
City of Madison (Jefferson)
City of Vincennes (Knox)

Division 2 (population 5,999 and below)
Town of Churubusco (Whitley)
Town of Culver (Marshall)
City of Union City (Randolph)

Creative Placemaking Workshop

The Indiana Arts Commission is hosting a Creative Placemaking Workshop on June 8-9, 2017 in Indianapolis. The day and a half-long workshop will introduce the practice of creative placemaking as a viable strategy for small and rural communities and neighborhoods.
