2017 Fair Housing Symposium

 2017 Fair Housing Symposium

The Northwest Indiana Reinvestment Alliance, along with its affiliates: the Lake County Housing Taskforce and the Northwest Indiana Bankers Community Council have partnered with the Continuum of Care of NWI and hosted the 2017 Housing Symposium. The theme for this year's conference was My Home, Your Home, Our Communities.   This event provided valuable resources for residents, landlords, not-for-profit organizations, realtors, local businesses.

FHCCI's 5th Annual Fair Housing Conference and Anniversary Conference

The 2017 FHCCI 5th Annual Fair Housing Conference, entitled No Hate in Our Neighborhood: How Fair Housing Laws Combat Hate and Promote Inclusion, was held at the Marriott East Indianapolis April 6, 2017.

GROUND BREAKING EVENTS

Silver Birch

Silver Birch of Michigan City

Real Estate Production Analysts Dani Miller and AJ Bytnar attended a ground breaking event for Silver Birch of Michigan City.  Developer for this project is Vermillion Enterprises and the contractor is TWG Construction.  This project received 2016 Rental Housing Tax Credits.  When this project is completed there will be 119 units. 

Garfield Commons

  Garfield Commons

In February of last year, IHCDA awarded our partners at ECHO Housing Corp. with Rental Housing Tax Credits for the development of Garfield Commons in Evansville. There will be 47 units that will provide affordable rental housing options in the Jacobsville neighborhood of Evansville.  ICHDA was in attendance at the groundbreaking last week.

GRAND OPENING EVENTS

Apperson Way Apartments

 Apperson Way Apartments

On April 25th the Partners in Housing, TWG Development, Cinnaire and others attended the grand opening of Apperson Way Apartments in Kokomo. The complex houses 69 affordable housing units and will be owned and managed by Indianapolis-based Partners in Housing, an organization dedicated to providing low-income and at-risk residents with affordable housing.

Edgewood Group Apartments

On April 27th the Edgewood Group, Financial Equity Associates, Equity Property Management and IHCDA staff attended the grand opening of Edgewood Group Apartments this project provides 190 affordable housing units of affordable housing in Merrillville and Lake County.

IHCDA is happy to introduce Gloria Roberts as a RED Compliance Auditor

The Compliance Auditor contributes to fulfilling IHCDA’s mission and strategic operational and program goals by ensuring that projects receiving federal and state funds through IHCDA remain in program compliance throughout the compliance/affordability period.
