HCV, Non-Elderly, Disabled Waitlist Open

Earlier this month we announced the opening of our wait list for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program to Non-Elderly, Disabled (Mainstream) individuals. The wait list will remain open until 25 applications are received.

The HCV Program comprises the majority of IHCDA’s Authority's Section 8 rental assistance programs. IHCDA administered vouchers help over 4,000 families pay their rent each month. Eligibility for the Housing Choice Voucher program is based on a family's household income.

MCMV Program Named Semifinalist in Harvard’s Innovations in American Government Awards

The Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, recognized IHCDA’s My Community, My Vision (MCMV) program as part of the 100 programs named as Semifinalists in this year’s Innovations in American Government Awards competition. MCMV will compete to be named a Finalist and have the chance to be awarded the $100,000 grand prize in Cambridge this spring…more.

2017 Point-in-Time Count Conducted January 25th

The 2017 Point-in-Time (PiT) Count took place on January 25, 2017. Two New CreatINg Places Campaigns Launched

Downtown South Bend has launched a crowdfunding campaign for a new monument dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Father Theodore Hesburgh through our CreatINg Places program. The campaign is offered through the crowdfunding platform Patronicity...more.

The City of Greensburg has launched a campaign to have public art installed downtown. Their project, called Distinctive Place, was announced by IHCDA and Main Street Greensburg...more.

Wabash Riverfront Plaza Project

First CreatINgPlaces Project Reaches its Funding Goal

Wabash Riverfront Plaza, the first project to launch through our CreatINg Places program, successfully met its funding goal! Launched by Wabash Marketplace, Inc. through Patronicity, the project will develop two major components: a riverfront courtyard and terraced steps to provide access to the river and the development of access from Wabash River to the project area.

IPSHI Event

2017 Institute Teams Announced

Teams from Columbus, Elkhart, Martinsville, Indianapolis and Plymouth will be participating in the 2017 Indiana Supportive Housing Institute.

Over the next six months, these teams will work closely with IHCDA and the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH)  through a series of targeted training and group exercises. They will also be provided technical assistance and presented with pre-development financing opportunities...more.
