Exemptions to HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule
For owner occupied
rehabilitation, the two most common exemptions to the HUD Lead Safe Housing
Rule are:
- Residential property
for which construction was completed on or after January 1, 1978.
- Any rehabilitation
that does not disturb a painted surface.
This flow chart will assist in determining the proper course of action
regarding lead based paint. The complete Lead Safe Housing Rule can be
found in 24 CFR part 35.

2017 Indiana Supportive Housing Institute
IHCDA is pleased to announce that it is once again partnering with CSH to offer a 2017 Indiana Supportive Housing Institute ("2017 Institute"). The 2017 Institute will address creating supportive housing end homelessness. HUD Issues New Guidance on Fair Housing Protections for People with Limited English Proficiency
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued "Limited English Proficiency" (LEP) guidance that addresses how the Fair Housing Act would apply to claims of housing discrimination brought by people because they do not speak, read, or write English proficiently. . Open House of Aspire Manor in Lebanon, Indiana last week. Aspire Manor is a
12 unit complex in Lebanon, Indiana and was developed by Aspire Indiana, Inc.
with IHCDA HOME funds. Aspire Indiana is a nonprofit that provides therapy,
housing, and employment services to individuals living with behavioral and
mental health disorders, addictions, and substance abuse.
