IHCDA...On Location
Habitat Home Investment Fund

IHCDA On Location_Spring 2016
Malachi Smith is joined by Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity volunteers at the State Fairgrounds to begin building his home. The home was later moved to its location on 3250 N. Capital in Indianapolis.

Making homeownership a reality for low-to-moderate income families throughout the state is not just an idea but the objective of Habitat for Humanity of Indiana and their 62 local affiliates. In order to make these homes truly affordable, Habitat uses construction volunteers and trained supervisors to reduce the home building costs. They also solicit public and private investors.

An example of generating public and private investment can be found with the new Habitat Home Investment Fund. IHCDA...On Location traveled to the state office for Habitat for Humanity of Indiana and the office for Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity to talk about this innovative approach to housing financing in Indiana.
