Rapid Response team activated to assist displaced Autocar employees

INDIANAPOLIS (January 26, 2018) —
The Indiana
Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and its community partner WorkOne Eastern have activated the state's Rapid Response team to assist the 70 hourly employees affected by the Autocar layoff in Hagerstown.
The state's Rapid Response team is activated when a significant layoff or plant closure occurs, and pairs knowledgeable WorkOne staff with displaced employees to move them toward a plan for re-employment as soon as possible. Activities focus on connecting displaced employees with local employment opportunities as well as providing résumé assistance, interview workshops, skills assessments, re-training and education benefits.
