Rapid Response Team Activated to Assist Schneider Electric Employees in Peru

INDIANAPOLIS (January 19, 2017) - The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and its community partner, WorkOne West Central, have activated the state’s Rapid Response team to assist Schneider Electric employees affected by the company's announcement that it will layoff 70 workers at its Sqaure D facility in Peru.

The state’s Rapid Response team is activated when a significant layoff or plant closure occurs and pairs knowledgeable WorkOne staff with displaced employees to move them toward a plan for re-employment as soon as possible. Activities focus on connecting displaced employees with local employment opportunities as well as providing resume assistance, interview workshops and skills assessments.

The time and location of the first Rapid Response session will be announced in the near future. For more information, please call (765) 472-3562.
