Rapid Response Team Activated to Assist St. Meinrad Archabbey's Abbey Press Employees
INDIANAPOLIS (December 2, 2016)
- The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and its
community partner, WorkOne Southwest
Indiana, have activated the state’s Rapid
Response team to assist employees affected by St.
Meinrad Archabbey's Abbey Press' plans to reduce staff at its Spencer County facility.
The state’s Rapid Response team is
activated when a significant layoff or plant closure occurs and pairs
knowledgeable WorkOne staff with displaced employees to move them toward a plan
for re-employment as soon as possible. Activities focus on connecting displaced
employees with local employment opportunities as well as providing resume
assistance, interview workshops and skills assessments.
