According to the Department of Defense, starting Jan. 1, 2020, all service-connected disabled Veterans, Purple Heart recipients, former Prisoners of War (POW), and individuals approved and designated as the primary family caregivers of eligible veterans under the Department of Veterans Affairs Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) can use commissaries, exchanges and morale, welfare and recreation (MWR) retail facilities, in-person and online.

A new year, a new you. That’s the plan, right? Easier said than done. This year, I’m offering 20 resolution ideas that alone typically wouldn’t make your New Year’s list. However, they’re all fairly simple, and the momentum created by knocking out a few could pay big dividends as you work to strengthen your personal finances.
• Set up an appointment with your attorney. It’s probably been too long (or never) since you reviewed and updated your wills, powers of attorney and the rest of your plan. Make the call.
• Review your investment portfolio. Unless something changes between now and when you’re reading this, we’ve been on a 10+ year run. Is your investment portfolio still in sync, or is it time to rebalance or reallocate?

Veterans Legislative Day 2020
Veterans Legislative Day is an annual nonpartisan event sponsored by state legislators. Beginning at 8 a.m. Jan. 27 at the Indiana State House 200 W. Washington St. Indianapolis, the event is organized by a volunteer committee of Hoosier veteran advocates and supporters. This day is intended to encourage veterans and their families to visit the state house and discuss veteran issues directly with their state legislators. For more information, click here.

Washington St. Indianapolis to exchange your pass for a veteran pass any time during retail hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Veterans and survivors may be eligible to receive burial compensation or allowance from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Begin the application at vets.gov or download and complete a VA Form 21P-530 Application for Burial Allowance and mail to Pension Management Center Indianapolis Regional VA 575 N. Women Veteran Networking
The local women veteran program is hosting a social and networking event 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 15 in room C1202 at Roudebush VA Medical Center 1481 W. 10th St. Indianapolis. This popular event will have several experts speaking with women veterans about VA services important to them. Mental health, HUD/VASH program, social work, Domiciliary and vocational rehabilitation are a few topics in discussion.

We're Moving!
The Indiana Department of Veterans' Affairs will re-locate their offices to 777 N. Meridian St. Indianapolis beginning Spring 2020. Our newly renovated original home is a larger location that will offer the same benefit services with enhanced capabilities and access to better serve our Hoosier veteran community. Located across the street from the Capehart Federal Building and within a one mile walk of the Indiana Government Center, the new location will feature State Approving Agency offices, Regional office representatives, medical and health care representatives and private organizations like the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
