IDVA names WISH for OUR HEROES as 2020 Salute to Veterans Golf Outing partner
INDIANAPOLIS -
The Indiana Department of Veterans' Affairs names WISH for OUR HEROES Indiana as the partner organization in the 7th Annual Salute to Veterans Golf Outing June 5 at the Brookshire Golf Club in Carmel.
Thirty-four teams will tee off at 8 a.m. in a scramble format. There is a men’s and women’s long drive contest, a closest to pin contest and a longest putt contest. There is a 50/50 raffle and prizes include donated items from local partner organizations. There are additional prizes for first, second and third-place teams.
Three sponsorship levels are available. Red level includes a $1,000 hole sponsorship, signs recognizing your organization and a free four-person team for the outing. White level is a $500 hole sponsorship and a cart sponsorship. Blue level is a $150 hole sponsorship.
Space for the outing is limited to thirty-four teams so pre-register now with Mike Aichele at saichele@dva.in.gov or call 317.677.6899 to reserve a spot. Entry fee is $320 per team ($80/player) and the price includes a golf cart, greens fee, extraordinary Southern BBQ buffet and water, coffee, soda and alcohol. Please make checks payable to WISH for OUR HEROES. Official registration and the collection of entry fees begins Jan. 20.
All proceeds benefit WISH for OUR HEROES Indiana Chapter, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to providing resources to assist veterans and their families. IDVA chose WISH for their commitment to a partnership that will raise funds for families, improves quality of life and helps to provide for daily needs throughout the stress of deployments, military assignments and transitioning to civilian life. Recycled Rides
Each year, Caliber Collision receives donated cars from insurance partners for their teammates to restore. Caliber Collision gifts these vehicles to local veterans in need. They also fill the car’s trunk with gifts and supplies that the recipient’s family needs such as toys, diapers and groceries. Caliber Collision is hosting several giftings soon and those who wish to participate can donate at their local Caliber Collision shop. You can find additional information here.

Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana adaptive sports program
RHI adaptive sports has partnered with the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis and Veterans Health Indiana to provide more opportunities for veterans with physical disabilities to return to sport. This partnership is made possible with a grant for $230,000 from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. RHI is now able to provide more adaptive sport opportunities for veterans. We Are Not Invisible Indiana
Please join the IDVA Women’s Program and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Women Veterans for an opportunity to be included in the national “I AM NOT INVISIBLE” campaign and photo exhibit. The photo session is led by Eugene Russell, the primary photographer at the office of the Secretary of Defense. The event begins at 9 a.m. Jan. 15 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1587 located at 5139 West Tenth St., Indianapolis. Indiana Blue Star Spirit of Christmas 2019
Indiana Blue Star Spirit of Christmas 2019 event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds Expo Hall. Twenty-one families and 62 children in need will be gifted items from their wish list from Santa and Mrs. Claus who will arrive in a Vietnam-era Bell UH-1 Iroquois.
