Hancock County Road 400 East to be Closed Monday
GREENFIELD – The Indiana Department
of Transportation (INDOT) plans to close the Hancock County Road North 400 East
bridge over Interstate 70 on Monday, April 6.
Crews plan to close the bridge at approximately 7:30 a.m. and reopen
access by the end of the day.
In the event of rain, crews will
postpone the closure for cleaning and sealing areas of the bridge deck, which
was rebuilt last year, until Tuesday, April 7.
Posted detour signs will direct
traffic to State Road 9 via State Road 234 and U.S. 40 to cross over I-70.
The $1.4 million bridge deck
replacement contract with Duncan Robertson is part of a statewide targeted
effort to invest an additional $50 million in state funds to protect and
preserve approximately 80 of Indiana’s bridges.
