Short-term lane restrictions scheduled along S.R. 46 in Bloomington
MONROE COUNTY, Ind.— Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP is scheduled to conduct short-term lane restrictions at the intersection of S.R. 46 and Smith Road for traffic signal improvements in Bloomington, beginning next week.
The short-term lane restrictions are currently scheduled as follows:

On or after Monday, February 5 - Friday, February 9 (7 a.m. - 5 p.m.): The right turn lane from westbound S.R. 46 to northbound Smith Road will close for traffic signal improvements. All work is weather dependent.

On or after Monday, February 12 - Friday, February 16 (7 a.m. - 5 p.m.): Traffic restrictions will be implemented from eastbound S.R. 46 to Smith Road for traffic signal improvements. Additional information will be provided at a later date. All work is weather dependent.
This work is part of an intersection improvement contract awarded to Milestone Contractors in May 2023. Construction for the S.R. 46 and Smith Road intersection improvement project is currently scheduled to begin between late February 2024 and early March 2024. Motorists can expect additional information regarding the project to be published at a later date.
