INDOT Northwest hiring winter seasonal employees
INDIANA - The Indiana Department of Transportation will host open interviews for over 100 winter seasonal positions on Tuesday, September 15 at eleven locations around the state. Hiring events will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (local time).
In the Northwest District, hiring events will take place at the Gary Sub District (7601 Melton Rd, Gary, IN 46403), LaPorte Sub District (315 E Boyd Blvd, LaPorte, IN 46350) and Plymouth Sub District (2845 Jack Greenlee Dr, Plymouth, IN 46563).
Winter seasonal positions run from November through March at a starting pay of $16 per hour. INDOT offers $250 sign on and $500 retention bonuses for eligible candidates. Candidates should have a valid driver's license and commercial driver's license (CDL). A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

About the Indiana Hands-Free Law
In 2019, Indiana Criminal Justice Institute reported that distracted driving from mobile devices was a factor in at least 1,263 crashes and three fatal crashes. To make Hoosier roads safer, Governor Eric J. Holcomb signed the Indiana Hands-Free law to reduce distracted driving across the state. Beginning July 1, 2020, drivers are prohibited from holding a mobile device, except in emergencies, while their vehicles are moving.
