Covid 19

Coronavirus Information for Your Business

You have your personal health and that of your employees as well as the health of your business to consider during this current crisis. While we want you and your employees to remain personally healthy, EOD is deeply concerned with your business' continued health.  To that end, any information we are made aware of that may assist you is being posted to our Facebook page.  The link to our page is a little down and to the left of this message.

We have also prepared a list of links and helpful information.  While, by no means exhaustive, you may want to check things out, especially the EIDL loans from SBA and the loans the City of Indianapolis and Indy Chamber are partnering in providing.

This is an article submitted by Tom Quinn of our supportive services provider CEI:

So, we have to plan for something no one has planned for. The Coronavirus Pandemic is affecting everyday life as we know it. The first thing we must realize; the pandemic is here, and we will need to address it and the effect it will have on our family and business. EOD Contractor Outreach

EOD Contractor Outreach

INDOT knows that being a prime contractor can be a dizzying responsibility. To clear up any confusion regarding administrative requirements for disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE), on-the-job training, and other compliance efforts, our Economic Opportunity Division (EOD) staff held contractor compliance training events for new and current contractor staff in late February and March.

Donna

Donna Poole has moved to Contract Administration

Donna wanted to seek new challenges and learn a different phase of the INDOT process, so when an estimator position came open in Contracts Administration, she applied and was offered the position. Though still with INDOT, she is in a new area and will be greatly missed. Should you have previously contacted Donna, for the time being, please contact her supervisor Kent Borggren Kborggren@indot.in.gov. or 317-518-9288. We wish her well in her new endeavors.

Paperless

Say Goodbye to Paper

The Economic Opportunity Division has worked with INDOT’s Management Information Systems (MIS) department to convert several of our old paper and Excel reporting systems into electronic reporting. Starting in January 2020, our MIS department began converting our annual PR-1391 reports, the On-the-Job Training Program, and the DBE-3 program into ITAP applications.

Update

Interstate Application Changes

The DBE program doesn’t quite have an automatic reciprocity component. DBEs seeking certification in other states are required to do so by means of Interstate Certification. The procedures for Interstate DBE Certification are defined in 49 CFR 26.85 and are handled differently from state to state.

Check Yourself

DBEs: Check Yourself!

Take time and look at your directory entry to make sure your NAICS codes and work type descriptions are accurate and up-to-date.

Your work types should relate to INDOT contract bid items as close as possible. If your scopes of work have expanded, request an expansion via an amendment application. Contact the Certification or Supportive Services Team for further questions or technical assistance.

Forget

Gentle Reminders

  1. Be sure to submit timely bids to primes.
  2. Be mindful to submit timely prequalification information.

Both of these affect your reputation and work..

3.  Be sure to submit your No Change Affidavit in a timely fashion.  You should get a reminder email from ITAP.  If you are not, check your SPAM folder.

4. We recommend you review your Directory entry when completing your NCA.  If it needs updating, contact us.

5.  Keep your contact information current.  ITAP feeds the Directory, so if your address, phone number, or email has changed, log into your application and complete an amendment.
