Pest Control

Finally Pest Control LLC

Formed in 2014 by owner Marcus Richardson, Finally Pest Control provides general pest, termite control, and inspection services. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, Richardson worked full time as a chemist at Eli Lilly when he became interested in expanding his scientific knowledge into other business opportunities. After completing research and working in the field and in management part time for a local pest control company, he decided on pest control. As the business grew, Richardson shifted to days at Lilly and ran Finally Pest Control in the evenings, and was eventually able to quit Lilly altogether. Read more

INDOT Contract Preconstruction Conference

A very important part of a construction contract’s beginning is the Preconstruction Conference, where the project staff meets with the prime contractor along with others involved, such as subcontractors and INDOT departments such as Testing, Environmental and EOD. At this meeting, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), as well as majority-owned subcontractors, suppliers and lessors/haulers, discuss particulars of their part of the contract, including the amount of their commitment, pay items, and scheduling. As most aspects of the contract work are discussed, the district EOD field officer is there to explain the particular issues that involve contract compliance. The contract’s Affirmative Action Certificate (AAC) is reviewed to reconfirm the commitment to the DBEs. This provides an opportunity for open discussion with those involved as to whether a DBE’s items may be increased or decreased or when their work might be scheduled. Read more

NEPA Training

Participants in the NEPA Initial Training will receive detailed instruction on the regulations covering environmental considerations set forth in various regulations, including those mentioned in the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and others. Participants will also learn of various policies governing work done for INDOT and FHWA. Upon completion of the course, participants will be certified in the Indiana NEPA project development process. This course is one of the requirements to be prequalified for environmental work for INDOT projects.  In addition to the initial training, INDOT offers occasional NEPA refresher courses

Learn about INDOT's Highway Design & Technical Support Training Resources at http://www.in.gov/indot/2401.htm. Some of these courses fulfill some of the requirements to become prequalified for environmental work or to prepare categorical exclusions for INDOT while others provide additional work categories. More information is available at (http://www.in.gov/indot/2893.htm).
