Recurring I-65 & I-70 North Split Ramp Closures Start This Weekend
Rieth-Riley Construction plans recurring weekend closures of the I-70 West ramp to I-65 South at the North Split to repair damage sustained from a fiery crash in April.
Starting Friday, Sept. 15 at 9 p.m., the I-70 West ramp to I-65 South will close until Monday, Sept. 18 at 6 a.m. During that time, traffic will be diverted to the parallel collector-distributor ramp (Exit 83A) to Michigan Street, Ohio Street and Fletcher Avenue. The left lane of the Exit 83A ramp will also be closed. Drivers can use the right lane and continue through the ramp system to access I-65 South and I-70 West.
Weather permitting, ramp and lane closures are expected to recur each weekend for approximately five weekends as repairs are made to sections of pavement and concrete wall.
