Night Operations Planned for Lloyd Expressway
VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana
Department of Transportation announced night time operations for the Lloyd
Expressway.
Beginning on or around 7 p.m. on
Monday June, 19, INDOT maintenance crews will begin grinding and sealing bridge
joints on the Lloyd Expressway from Wabash Avenue to U.S. 41. During these
operations, crews will be using two lanes of traffic. Work will begin on the
west side of the project limits and move east. One lane of traffic will be
available to the motoring public at all times.
INDOT is aware of the upcoming
events in downtown Evansville, including festivals, concerts, shows, etc. We
have worked with local officials and law enforcement to alleviate congestion
during those events. We will be using several safety measures to warn the
motoring public of the work zones including arrow boards, dynamic messaging
signs and enhanced temporary lighting in the work zone.
Work is expected to last about six
weeks depending upon weather conditions. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and
stay alert near crews.
