Electronic DBE/ACDBE Process

Enroll NOW!

Nearly six months ago, the DBE application process went totally electronic. For existing DBEs, this is your portal for submitting your annual No Change affidavits and requesting additions to your certification. The most important tip as DBEs become familiar with this new process is DON’T PANIC. EOD certification staff is available to provide assistance. Read more

OJT

Changes to Apprentice Ratios

 The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has recently notified INDOT that the journey worker-to-apprentice ratio for laborers has been changed. Instead of the 4:1 ratio, the ratio is now 1:1 for the first laborer apprentice and 3:1 thereafter.  Translated, this means that the first apprentice brought onto a job site must have one journey level worker tied to it. For every apprentice thereafter, there must be at least three journey workers. Read more


DBE

Entrepreneurial Development Institute 2017

  The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and the Federal Highway Association (FHWA) are providing the INDOT Entrepreneurial Development Institute (EDI) for Indiana-certified DBEs with the ability and the desire to bid on Indiana heavy highway construction contracts.

The theme for this year’s training is “Little by Little, Purpose, Process and Progress,” and will be presented in three modules. The first module will take place Jan. 12-14. The second module will be held Feb. 22-25, and the final module will be presented March 16-18. All training sessions will be held at the Homewood Suites, 11355 N. Meridian Street, Carmel, Indiana. Read more

Southwest Chamber

Construction Connection

The Southwest Indiana Chamber’s Diverse Business Alliance is having their second annual Construction Connection on February 22nd from 3-6pm at the Southern Indiana Career Technical Center. This is a great event for construction subcontractors and suppliers to mix and mingle with prime contractors while also learning about up and coming regional projects and any necessary diverse spend goals associated with them. Find out if your company could fit the needs of various projects in the Southwest Indiana Region. Project sponsors include, City of Evansville, Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation, Ivy Tech, as well as Regional Cities Initiatives such as the Evansville Regional Airport Terminal Renovation, and many more.
