106th Street Traffic Shift Tomorrow at U.S. 31

Construction crews plan to remove traffic signals and shift lanes on 106th Street under U.S. 31 to a near-final roundabout configuration beginning around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15.

To allow workers to safely remove the signals, temporary stop signs will be installed at the exit ramps from U.S. 31 to 106th Street.  Traffic on eastbound and westbound 106th Street will be free-flowing without stop signs.

Contractors anticipate removing the temporary stop signs by Wednesday evening, March 16, and motorists exiting U.S. 31 will yield to traffic on 106th Street in the roundabout configuration.  The roundabout will temporarily remain one lane in each direction to provide crews space to finish work.

After traffic is shifted, crews will be able to complete concrete work at the interchange, including curbs and sidewalks.  Orange barrels will remain in place at this interchange while this work is completed.
