INDOT Awards Culvert Contract on State Road 244
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has awarded a $264,000 contract to Milestone Contractors to replace a box culvert channeling Little Hurricane Creek under State Road 244 west of Milroy in Rush County.
Milestone plans to begin work by closing the highway for up to 60 days sometime after April 1. A signed detour will direct state road traffic around construction via Interstate 74 and State Road 3.
The existing structure will be excavated and replaced with a precast reinforced concrete box culvert measuring 9 feet tall, 20 feet wide and 60 feet long. State Road 244 is expected to open to traffic before October. A specific closure date and schedule will be announced before work begins.
