DOR Helps Indiana get
"Back on Track"

Check out our "Back on Track" plan. This plan details how DOR is re-starting initiatives that were previously delayed or had alternative deadlines due to the pandemic. Visit DOR’s COVID-19 webpage for more information on how DOR is pulling together with our customers through these challenging times.

Update: OSOW Permits for COVID-19 Relief Supplies/Services

As of August 3, the process to obtain oversize/overweight permits for vehicles hauling goods and supplies intended for emergency pandemic response/relief has changed.

To apply for these permits, carriers must now contact INDOT Freight Manager Leslie Morgan by email. Upon approval, INDOT will issue a carrier-specific emergency permit that can be used in conjunction with these loads.

These permits are intended only for loads of materials and supplies being hauled for emergency response or relief due to conditions caused by COVID-19. Loads cannot travel over legal weight limits when the materials or supplies hauled can no longer reasonably be considered part of the emergency response or relief efforts, even if the emergency permit is still valid.

DOR's Oversize/Overweight Permit Team will continue to handle applications for all other OSOW permit types.

New OSOW Permitting System
Coming in 2020

DOR and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) continue to work with ProMiles to develop a new oversize/overweight permitting system that is safe, accurate and provides customers with efficient service. OSOW team members at DOR, INDOT and Indiana State Police will begin comprehensive testing in August. If all goes well, beta testing with a select group of customers will begin in late-September. We will contact beta testers with more information closer to the date. Depending on the outcome of testing and any additional programming needs, the new permitting system could be available as early as Fall 2020.

Update: Customer Service Appointments

Need in-person assistance to get your registration, plates or permits? Our MCS team can help. Before setting up an appointment, you may want to check on any online services available. If you still need to talk to someone in-person, service is available at MCS by appointment.

After making an appointment, an MCS team member will contact you to complete as much of the transaction as possible by telephone and email. Customers who arrive at MCS without an appointment may experience longer-than-expected wait times or may be asked to make an appointment for a later time or date. In accordance with Governor Eric Holcomb’s #MaskUpHoosiers initiative, masks are required.

Some INtax Functions are Moving to INTIME in September

On September 8, 2020, DOR will kick off the second rollout of the four-part Project NextDOR tax modernization project. This rollout will allow business customers with sales and withholding tax obligations to begin registering for the e-services portal, the Indiana Taxpayer Information Management Engine (INTIME) beginning on September 8.

Check out which tax types are moving to INTIME in Rollout 2 and which tax types will remain in INtax in the graphic below. Please note that the fuel tax listed under INtax does not reference MCFT or IFTA.
