Office of School Finance

Annual Office of School Finance Budget Workshop

IDOE’s Office of School Finance will host the Annual Office of School Finance Budget Workshop at 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday, June 26, at the Pike Performing Arts Center in Indianapolis. The workshop should conclude by noon. Participants can attend the workshop in-person, watch it virtually, or view a recorded version at a later date. Please register here. School Technology Advancement Account (STAA) Applications

School corporations may file an application for a STAA through Friday, July 12. The STAA application can be completed online and must be completed in one sitting. A sample application and certification page can be found in Moodle. Contact commonschoolfund@doe.in.gov with any questions.

Choice Scholarship Program

Annual Conference for Choice Schools

IDOE’s Choice Annual Conference will feature presentations from IDOE’s Offices of School Safety, Special Education, Accountability and Accreditation, Data Reporting, Title/Ombudsman, and English Learners, as well as information about high school redesign, literacy, and assessments. The conference will be held in Indiana Government Center South auditorium. Register here.


Choice Certification 

There is one more opportunity to attend Choice Certification. This is intended for new schools or new staff at previously participating schools. Staff that would like a refresher course are also welcome to attend. The training is held in the Indiana Government Center South building. The final Choice Certification training is offered on Tuesday, July 9. Register here.


Enrollment

Several schools are missing exit dates for students after the end of the school year. Please make sure to review data to ensure that all students, including pre-k and kindergarten, have exit dates reported within five days of the last calendar day.


Choice School Applications

The application period for schools to apply to participate in the Choice Scholarship Program for the 2024-2025 school year is open. Schools may apply to participate through Sunday, September 1. The application materials are posted on the Choice website and in the Non-Public School Community in Moodle. Contact ChoiceSchool@doe.in.gov for more information.


Choice Student Applications

Schools that have been approved to participate in the 2024-2025 Choice Scholarship program may submit student applications. The deadline for student applications is Sunday, September 1. The applications are submitted through the STN Application Center. Please contact ChoiceSchool@doe.in.gov if you need assistance with student applications.


Choice Office Hours

The next session of office hours is on Wednesday, June 26. The link to join the meeting is posted in the Non-Public School Community in Moodle. Attendance is not mandatory, but highly recommended. The meetings are hosted at the times below:

  • 10 to 10:30 a.m. ET hosted by Grace Miller

Summer School Estimates for Non-Public Schools

This memo includes information regarding the 2024 summer school estimated distribution amounts. Non-public schools included in this memo are eligible to submit a Final Cost Report during the submission period from Monday, July 29, through Sunday, September 15. The final distribution amounts will be determined when actual expenditure data is received this fall. Contact Teresa Hemmerle with any questions.


School and Corporation Profile Amendment Window 

The school and corporation profile amendment submission window for the 2023-2024 school year is open. In order to ensure that IDOE maintains accurate information, all schools and corporations must provide notice when changes are made that affect school openings, closures, and reconfigurations. Information on the submission process can be found here. Schools that have changes in grade configurations will not be able to access those grade levels in the student Choice application until the profile amendment has been approved through IDOE's Office of Accountability.
