Summer School Distribution
IDOE's Office of School Finance has determined the reimbursement of summer school costs based on the 2023 Summer School Final Cost Reports submitted by eligible school corporations and charter schools. The payment for 2023 summer school programs will occur on Monday, November 20. Additional information and the detailed list of distributions can be found here. Membership Conflict Petition Process
Please read this memo regarding the membership conflict petition process. Friday, December 15, is the deadline for a school corporation or charter school to file a petition. Contact the Office of School Finance with any questions.
Choice Student Applications
The submission period to submit period 2 student Choice applications is open and will close on January 15, 2024. As a reminder, tuition reported on the application should not be pro-rated. The application will automatically calculate the half-year award amount from the annual tuition reported. If you have any questions regarding the submission of period 2 Choice student applications, please contact ChoiceSchool@doe.in.gov or your Choice specialist.
Endorsement Forms
Endorsement forms for period 2 Choice scholarship awards are available upon approval of the application. The forms must be signed by the parent/guardian and the school representative and uploaded to the STN Application Center before the upload window closes. The window to upload the forms is open from January 16, 2024 to March 4, 2024.
Choice School Monitoring Reports
The November update of Choice school monitoring reports are in schools’ Google folders. If you need the link to your school’s folder, email ChoiceSchool@doe.in.gov or your Choice specialist.
Student Choice Records
It is required that student Choice files are kept for three years. The current year files should be in physical form. Prior years may be scanned and maintained digitally.
Special Education Data Reporting
Students who were identified as eligible for special education and who selected the Choice school to provide special education services will be reported by the Choice school in December. Only students enrolled and expected in attendance on Friday, December 1, may be included in the data submission. Students who receive special education services from the public school corporation will be reported by the public school corporation. If you have questions or need assistance with data submissions, contact your Student Information System (SIS) provider first and if the SIS is unable to assist you, submit a helpdesk ticket.
Special Education Endorsement Forms
Eligible students who receive special education services from the Choice school need to have a Special Education Endorsement Form (SF) signed by the school and the parent/guardian and uploaded to IDOE via the STN Application Center between Monday, December 4, and Thursday, January 11. SF will be available to download in the STN Application Center after the special education data has been reported in Data Exchange. There will be a delay of at least one day between Data Exchange submission and availability of the form in the STN Application Center. A special education payment will not be made for any student that does not have an SF uploaded by the posted deadline.
Holiday Schedule
IDOE will be closed Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, for Thanksgiving.
