CNPweb 2024
IDOE does not have a set opening date for CNPweb program year (PY) 2024. An announcement will be included in this newsletter when the new year application and direct certification (DC) are available.
Sponsor Number Login Ending
One year ago, IDOE moved to single-user login for CNPweb. With the change, sponsors designated a CNPweb administrator who has the ability to add users to CNPweb with the access of their choice. The sponsor number login has remained active over the past year, but that login will be shut off in the coming weeks. When logging in, the single user login must be used. This login username format will be the sponsor number with an underscore and a unique username. For example, 0009_jdoe or similar.
If you do not have single user access, please contact your local CNPweb administrator. If you have additional issues, please use the CNPweb help form.
PY 2024 Reimbursement Rates
USDA released the PY 2024 reimbursement rates on Friday, July 7. You can find them here. IDOE is awaiting the commodity value per lunch before adult meal pricing guidance can be updated.
DC – Not Yet Available
Although not available yet, here is how to prepare for the first DC pull.
- Ensure point of sale (POS) software has the ability to recognize all of the DC designations of F, A, W, M, and R.
- Unsure what these mean? See the DC Guide page 5.
- Confirm students that are DC Reduced will receive the reduced meal benefit. These students are not free.
- Continue to process meal benefit applications within 10 days of submission by the household.
Healthy Meals Incentives Recognition Awards
As part of a cooperative agreement to develop and implement the USDA Food and Nutrition Service’s (FNS) Healthy Meals Incentives Initiative, Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) is offering Recognition Awards to celebrate School Food Authorities (SFA) that have made significant improvements to the nutritional quality of their school meals. The Recognition Awards will spotlight innovative practices, student and community engagement activities, and strategies schools have used to provide meals that are consistent with the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
The application for recognition is open on a continual basis from June 30, 2023 through June 30, 2025. To access the application portal click here.
General questions about the Recognition Awards can be emailed to TeamNutrition@USDA.gov.
SFAs with specific questions about the Recognition Awards and application, can email those questions to award@healthymealsincentives.org.
USDA Foods Beginning of Year Reminders Webinar
IDOE will host a virtual webinar on Tuesday, July 25, at 10 a.m. ET. We welcome all SFA Food Service Directors (FSDs). If your SFA contracts with a Food Service Management Company (FSMC), they are required to attend with the SFA FSD. The webinar will walk through the recertification process, CNPweb, state assigned warehouse deliveries, and the Department of Defense (DoD) Fresh program. Registration is required. Register here.
K12 Foodservice and ProcessorLink Training
Schools that allocated pounds to processors are required to monitor and manage those pounds for proper inventory management. IDOE is hosting a training for each commodity tracking website. Learn how to monitor and manage processor pounds, select distributors, run reports and review months on hand.

Free and Reduced Applications and Instructions Now Available
The 2023-2024 Application for Meal Benefits, parent letter/instructions, and notification letters have been updated on IDOE’s Free & Reduced Forms webpage. The updated 2023-2024 income guidelines can be found here.
Please note the following changes:
- Adult and child income sections have swapped positions.
- Annual income has been added for each income type.
- Some sections have updated wording or have had instruction boxes removed.
- The parent letter/instructions have the updated income guidelines for reduced benefits.
- All paperwork has the updated program year.
The application is a PDF with fillable space at the top and bottom for customization. The parent and notification letters are Google Docs. In order to update templates with contact information, click File and then Make a copy to revise, or click File and Download into your preferred file format.
If distributing your own applications or letters, make sure the information matches the templates.
While the textbook disclosure signature is optional for households to complete, it should still be included on all applications (paper and online) because it remains part of Indiana Code. Missed the Meal Benefit Application Walkthrough and New School Year Preparation webinar on Tuesday, June 20? Watch for the webinar recording to be posted in Moodle soon.
