School Immunization Data

On December 6, the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) will distribute an Immunization Report Card to all Indiana school corporations regarding the data each school has submitted into the Children and Hoosier Immunization Registry Program (CHIRP). For a variety of reasons, there may be instances where the school immunization data does not match the data sent to schools in the Immunization Report Card. To learn more about this report and why a discrepancy might exist, please click here

Firearm Safety and Education Resources

Firearm violence and deaths by suicide continue to impact communities across Indiana. In order to continue addressing this epidemic there are resources available to schools and families that can be found here.

NEW Item Writing Workshop

IDOE is seeking 13 educators for English/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies in grades three through eight and high school biology to write items for ILEARN assessments. A two-day workshop will be held in late February/early March. Educators will be trained on item-writing best practices to construct these items. Educators will be expected to develop approximately 20 items in a six-month time frame outside of the standard school day, and will be compensated for additional items written outside of the workshop. Assistance will be offered to educators during the development cycle. Interested participants should complete the following Jotform. A subset of applicants will be identified for a follow-up phone conversation to define the expectations for this process and to gather details about content and assessment expertise of the applicant. Final selections will be made by February 7, 2020.

December 2019 ILEARN Biology End-of-Course Assessment (ECA) Test Window Continues

Students completing the High School Biology course this semester should participate in the ILEARN Biology ECA during the December window, which is open now through Thursday, December 19. Review this participation guidance, released in August, if needed. The Office of Student Assessment is available to support schools throughout this window. Please contact IDOE (317-232-9050) or the Indiana Assessment Help Desk (866-298-4256) with any questions.
