IN the Know

Through a partnership between the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, CollegeChoice 529 Savings Plan, and the Indiana Treasurer of State's office, "Right on the Money" was produced to provide a financial education opportunity for young Hoosiers. This video explains the path of Indiana tax dollars in providing services to residents.

The video fulfills fourth grade Indiana Social Studies Standard 4.4.9.  Both an interactive online quiz and printable worksheets are available to educators to supplement the lesson.

Office of School Improvement

IDOE Resource Hub Updates Completed

As the Office of School Improvement seeks to support schools with best practices and excellent resources, IDOE's Resource Hub has been updated with an action planning template and video tour. These resources will assist schools in taking the resources from a place on the web to actions in their educational setting.

Statewide Needs Assessment Survey Concludes November 7

During the 2018 legislative special session, HB 1230 passed and was signed into law. The law requires IDOE to conduct a statewide needs assessment survey that collects data from public elementary, middle, and high schools, including charter schools. Please use this link to access the survey, and see the attached memo for instructions and details about responding to the survey. We want to hear from all school corporations to get a true and accurate picture of the needs of our state’s schools regarding student services and school safety. The responses will likely impact legislative decisions this session. We appreciate your willingness to participate.
