In the News Advanced Placement Award Recipients Announced
Upgrade Window for IDOE Systems This Weekend Yesterday, a significant system maintenance and upgrade window began and will continue through June 19. Users accessing IDOE systems (e.g. Learning Connection, STN Application Center, Teacher Licensing, Title I) will likely experience intermittent and sustained periods of unavailability. During this upgrade window, IDOE e-mail and phones will be operational. We expect systems to be back online by Monday, June 19 at 7:00 am. We thank you for your patience as we make these improvements.
Legislative Updates Earlier this week, we provided an update on SEA 108 with information on public school transfers. We also shared more information on HB 1001 regarding Teacher Appreciation Grants.
Assessment The Indiana Department of Education anticipates releasing a Request for Proposal in early July to support the development of ILEARN for the 2018-2019 school year. Recruitment of educators to review incoming proposals will begin July 3. Updates will continue to be provided in these Friday messages to corporations and schools about this exciting new assessment system.
Title I Application Walk-through The opportunity to participate in a live webinar walk-through of the Title I application center's existing features and new updates due to ESSA implementation is available. One webinar is geared toward new Title I program administrators and another for experienced Title I program administrators. Both options will be recorded for viewing at a later date. Title II, A: Supporting Effective Instruction Information The IDOE has created a technical assistance and FAQ document to explain the ESSA formula to allocate Title II, A funds. Questions may be sent to Nathan Williamson.
Recordings and Digital Materials from Federal Program Administrator Workshops The video recordings and digital materials are now available from the IDOE's recent Federal Program Administrator Workshops. Participants may view the recorded material to learn about important ESSA updates, supplement not supplant, required documentation, Title II, comprehensive needs assessments, nonpublic equitable share, allowable activities, and Title I application walk-through.
