Greencastle, Ind. - Executive Director of Behavioral Health, Deanna Dwenger, Quality Assurance Manager Eric Vanatti, and Warden Dushan Zatecky is pleased to announce Troy Pederson as a Silent Hero recipient at Putnamville Correctional Facility (PCF).

Mr. Pederson was nominated for the Silent Hero Award by an anonymous staff member who shared that, “Troy Pederson has been a staple at Putnamville Correctional Facility for several years. He is calm, thoughtful, and always trying to provide the best care, no matter the circumstance. Mr. Pederson encourages those around him, and never sits idly. Mr. Pederson is the definition of a team player who identifies a task and quickly works to complete it while remaining positive and ensuring proper protocols are consistently followed.”

During these unprecedented times, it is the essential workers who are getting us through the pandemic. Nurses, Doctors, Police, Corrections, Grocery Store staff, etc. PCF would like to thank Mr. Pederson for working tirelessly to assist the facility in their behavioral health services for those incarcerated. Your work does not go unnoticed; you and your team are up against challenges daily that you face in unique ways that are contributing to positive changes in those you encounter.

The mental health profession has its unique nuisance. It is a profession that varies greatly depending on the condition of the person and the severity of their concerns. Those who choose a path in the mental health profession, do so because of their sincere passion for supporting the mental well-being of those in their care. PCF thanks you Mr. Pederson for your work and dedication to the Indiana Department of Correction and the facility.
