The Correctional Industrial Facility Donates to Christmas Behind Bars
Pendleton, Ind. - The Correctional Industrial Facility recently received their annual visit from Christmas Behind Bars, a Christ-centered ministry focused on delivering gospel and goodies. This, their ninth year presented a challenge due to COVID-19 which necessitated no inside visitors.
Lemuel Vega, a former offender, and founder of Christmas Behind Bars wanted to ensure the men received their much-anticipated yearly gift bags filled with pretzels, candy bars and granola. This year he delivered the goodies directly to our warehouse where the items will be stored and later distributed by facility staff.
The Correctional Industrial Facility donated $1,000 to support the mission of the program. Warden Wendy Knight said, “Mr. Vega’s commitment to Christ, hard work, and dedication to serving offenders across the country is remarkable; it’s obvious why this program is so successful.”
Christmas Behind Bars is a not for profit program that relies on charitable donations to operate. If you are interested in donating bibles, hygiene items, snacks, or a tax-deductible financial gift please use this link Christmas Behind Bars Donate.
