Montrel McGee Sworn in as a Correctional Police Officer
Bunker Hill, Ind. – Montrel McGee of Miami Correctional Facility (MCF), Division of Investigations and Intelligence (DII) graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) and was sworn in as a Correctional Police Officer (CPO) on December 1, 2020.
Montrel began his career with the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) in 2007 as a correctional officer. As his career progressed he also received training as a locksmith and as a K-9 officer. In 2016 he was promoted to serve as the Security Threat Group (STG) Coordinator with the Division of Investigations and Intelligence (DII) which led to his interest in becoming a CPO.
Casie Klepinger, the assistant lead investigator for DII said, “We are so proud of Montrel and know he will continue to be a great asset to our team. All of us at DII congratulate Montrel on this milestone achievement."
Warden Bill Hyatte commented, "Officer McGee has made the MCF team proud, not only for his ILEA graduation but also for the example he sets for other staff to follow. He is the true example of a team member and his work helps make our facility a safer place for offenders and fellow staff members."
