Staff Recognized for Taking on Extra Duties
Michigan City, Ind. - Recently staff were recognized for their dedication to the safety and security of the Indiana State Prison. Correction Officers Brittany Dorre and Ronald Anderson were recognized for their commitment to the Emergency Response Operations (ERO) teams within the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC). The ERO Teams are volunteer based. Members sacrifice personal time outside their regular work hours to attend training that prepares them to step in when needed. Their commitment to protecting others, even at the risk of their own safety, is something to be commended.
Warden Ron Neal said, "I have great respect for the staff who are willing to dedicate their time and service to ensure the safety of not only their fellow staff members, but the community as well."
Correctional Officer Brittany Dorre is a member of the facility's emergency squad (E-Squad). Brittany took on several additional tasks along the way making her a role-model for new members and instrumental in the success of the team. She comes in after hours to assist in the facility wide COVID-19 efforts the facility has in place. She has reported for duty on multiple occasions to assist in passing out masks to all the offenders and staff. She also ensures accountability of each document and piece of equipment to make sure they are completed accounted for correctly.

Correctional Officer Ronald Anderson is an experienced K-9 handler who regularly comes in on his days off to assist with training of new handlers and their K-9 partners. Officer Anderson continually makes suggestions for ways to better the facility K-9 Team, which demonstrates his commitment to the IDOC and makes him stand out as a role model for his co-workers.
