Accreditation Manager Receives Re-Certification

Michigan City, Ind. – Indiana State Prison Accreditation Manager Rhonda Brennan recently earned re-certification as a Certified Corrections Supervisor (CCS) by the American Correctional Association.

Prior to re-certification, accreditation managers are required to complete a minimum of 60 continuing education contact hours in a variety of professional level learning experiences and activities in the field of corrections.

Becoming re-certified as a CCS is an indication of demonstrated professionalism that involves the upgrading of skills and knowledge by attending corrections related training/education courses, participating in or attending corrections related national/regional/state/local conferences, participating in a formal, corrections-related readying/study groups, or similar activities approved by the National Commission on Correctional Certification. Through such mechanisms, Certified Correctional Supervisors help raise the level of professionalism in the corrections field by advancing the overall knowledge level of practitioners and helping to ensure that they are aware of the most current and innovative approaches. It promotes the capabilities of correctional professionals to the public and enhances society’s image of correctional personnel.

Warden Ron Neal said, “Congratulations, Ms. Brennan!   It is a pleasure to have such dedicated employees such as yourself who strive to improve themselves through hard work and dedication!   I truly appreciate your willingness to go above and beyond the Call of Duty to obtain Re-Certification with the American Correctional Association.”
