Veteran Putnamville Correctional Officer Retires

Greencastle, Ind.— Congratulations to Ella Petrey on her retirement after 17 years and two months of unwavering service!

Ms. Petrey began her service with the Department of Correction as a Correctional Officer on March 31, 2003 and served in that capacity until her assignment as a Correctional Caseworker from September of 2007 to 2010.  In 2010 Ms. Petrey transitioned back to her Correctional Officer position where she remained until her last day of service on June 3, 2020.

“Ms. Petrey set a great example for all the staff at Putnamville Correctional and will be greatly missed,” stated Deputy Warden Phegley. “Ella always made it a point to check on fellow staff members throughout her day and you never caught her without a smile on her face.”
