Edinburgh Correctional Officer Receives Courage Award
Edinburgh, Ind. - Correctional Officer Teddy Adams was presented a Courage Award by members of the Indiana Department of Correction Staff Development and Training section on behalf of IDOC Commissioner Rob Carter. The Courage Award is for staff members demonstrating true leadership by making bold decisions and developing ground-breaking ideas and solutions.
Officer Adams has been essential to the safe operation of the facility since he started at Edinburgh. Officer Adams realized operations could be performed more efficiently by relocating the control post to a location where correctional officers supervise activities. Taking the courage to step up as an officer to make bold changes improved the efficiency of daily operations.
Officer Adams has stepped up over the last couple months taking on new leadership roles when opportunities have become available. Whenever preforming in a leadership capacity, Officer Adams can be counted on to keep open lines of communication with fellow staff members and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
Warden Bryan Dobbs commented “Officer Adams’ quick decision making, calm demeanor, and courage is very impressive for a young officer during these challenging times.”
