Putnamville Correctional and Madison Tools Inc. Team Up During the Covid-19 Pandemic
Greencastle, Ind. - The Putnamville Correctional Facility recently received donations of masks and fabric from local businesses. Madison Tools and Die, located in Madison, IN donated 100 face masks and 40 more masks were donated by Greencastle, IN resident Mrs. Jo. The local Goodwill Thrift store in Greencastle, IN and Lea Erwood, the owner of Deer Hollow Creations in Rosedale, IN both donated enough fabric for offenders at the facility to make an additional 300 face masks.
Generous donations, as recently received, has enabled offenders at the Putnamville Correctional Facility to make more that 2,500 face masks. The recently made masks, as well as masks that are continuously made at the Miami Correctional Facility, help to ensure all offenders and staff members at every department of correction facility will always have a fresh face mask available.
"We are blessed to have such caring businesses and citizens who reach out to help in a time of need." said Deputy Warden Hartzell. "What true examples of selflessness for which we are truly grateful."
Businesses and citizens interested in donating materials to the Putnamville Correctional Facility are invited to email or call Public Information Officer Brooke Edwards at BEdwards1@idoc.in.gov or 765-653-8441, Extension 407 for information on the donation process.
