Correctional Industrial Facility Thanks Offenders for Keeping the Facility Clean
Pendleton, Ind. - The Correctional Industrial Facility (CIF) in Pendleton recently provided the offenders with an additional enhancement to their normal meal.
Offenders were given two bratwursts, peppers, onions and potato salad in addition to their normal meal. The meal was a small thank you to the offenders for all of their hard work helping keep CIF clean and truly buying into the mantra “were in this together”. Wherever you walk in CIF you will pick up a faint whiff of bleach or sanitizer. Offenders and staff work around the clock in the housing units, as well as in the program, administrative and work areas. Offenders can be seen wiping off door knobs, furniture, railings and bathrooms from top to bottom.
The facility has maintained stringent measures for cleanliness, screening of staff and offenders as well as requiring proper protective equipment and social distancing to be followed. Over 7000 masks have been manufactured at the facility and supplied to offenders and staff ; alcohol hand sanitizer is available to all staff and offenders and refilled whenever it is empty.
Warden Wendy Knight commented, “I am extremely impressed with the hard work of our staff and offenders. It is far from over but CIF has maintained the same high expectations from day one and so far we netted great results.”
