Indianapolis, Ind.- Indiana Women’s Prison (IWP) Warden Laurie Johnson is pleased to announce the promotion of Kelly Neese to Correctional Major.
Kelly Neese began his career in the Indiana Department of Correction at the Indiana Boy’s School in 1987. He is a veteran of the United States Army, in which he served four years active duty stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Camp Casey in South Korea, and Fort Riley in Kansas.
Kelly Neese has served the Department of Correction for 33 years and has expansive working experience with various populations. He has held the positions of correctional officer at the Indiana Boy’s School and the Reception Diagnostic Center, and correctional lieutenant for Hertiage Trail Correctional Facility and Indianapolis Re-Entry and Education Facility.
Upon the closing of the Indianapolis Re-Retry Educational Facility he transferred to Plainfield Correctional Facility promoting to correctional captain.
In 2020 Neese transferred to the Indiana Women's Prison, promoting to the rank of correctional major.
Warden Laurie Johnson stated, “I am pleased to promote Mr. Neese, he has a wealth of knowledge and has hit the ground running to effectively assist in responding to the needs of the facility and the pandemic impacting our nation.”
