Plainfield Correctional Working to Fight the Spread of COVID-19 in the Community

Plainfield, Ind. - Offenders at the Plainfield Correctional Facility have been making masks to help fight the spread of COVID-19 both here at the facility and within the community. 

Offenders have produced over 1600 mask for use within the facility by both the offender population and officers. Offenders have also produced over 600 masks that have been donated to the community, with 500 masks now having been donated to Hendricks County Regional Hospital. Additionally, offenders have produced over 350 polypropylene masks with filters thanks to the donations of several volunteers from the community. Ms. Dajuana Cross the facility Community Services Director stated, "We will continue to produce mask as long as we have materials and the need."

Warden Stanley Knight commented, "The Plainfield Correctional facility would like to thank those in the community for their generous donations of material, thread and sewing machines. Without your kindness and generosity, we are able to provide these much needed masks to those on the front lines."
