Peru Woman Arrested at New Castle Correctional Facility

New Castle, Ind.— An investigation by the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) resulted in the February 2nd arrest of Bre-Ann Achors, 29, of Peru, Indiana.  The investigation developed information alleging Achors was attempting to traffic drugs into the New Castle Correctional Facility when visiting an inmate.  As a result of the investigation, two packages containing suspected methamphetamine were recovered.

Ms. Achors was arrested, transported to Henry County Jail pending charges of Trafficking with an Inmate, Felony level 5 (3 counts) and Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony level 5.

Facility Administrator Mark Sevier commended the hard work and dedication of the investigative team in battling the trafficking of drugs and further noted, "The introduction of drugs and contraband in to a facility creates a dangerous situation for staff and inmates and NCCF will not tolerate it.  Each person attempting to do so will be caught and fully prosecuted."

Formal charges will be determined by the Henry County Prosecutor's Office.
