Welcome to the first edition of the Indiana Department of Veterans’ Affairs monthly Newsletter. We see this newsletter as a way to keep you informed of the activities of IDVA and also highlight current events in the veteran community around the state.

Be sure to signup for IDVA's 2016 Women Veteran’s Conference, taking place on Friday, April 15 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This event is open to all women veterans throughout Indiana and will provide quality information regarding VA claims, benefits, health care, personal enhancement, and much more. Governor Mike Pence was recently joined by state leaders from the American Veterans, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Their meeting consisted of celebrating the partnership Indiana and the Big Four have, as well as a discussion on legislative and administrative accomplishments that have taken place during the first three years of the Pence administration.

In January 2016, the Indiana Veterans' Home was named as a 5-Star Facility - the highest possible rating!  This was an increase from the previous rating of 4-Stars.
