Follow DNR Go FishIN coordinator Clint Kowalik as he
travels down the White River on a fishing adventure. At each spot, he’ll do a little fishing, take a few pictures, and
talk about the fish and the habitat in that area.

Free youth hunting days, Sept. 8-9 and Nov. 24-25
Any resident age 17 or younger on the date of the hunt can take any legal game in season during these free youth hunting days. Youth must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years of age.
Indiana Archaeology Month starts Sept. 1
September marks the 23rd annual statewide celebration of Archaeology Month, an opportunity for all ages to learn about archaeology in Indiana.
Hoosier history buffs can meet archaeologists and learn about the state’s past at events held by universities, museums and other organizations and individuals throughout Indiana. The DNR Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology coordinates Archaeology Month.
Two Indiana nature preserves honored
Chamberlain Lake and Spicer Lake, two nature preserves in St. Joseph County, have been named “Wetlands of Distinction” by the Society of Wetlands Scientists (SWS).
Status as a “wetland of distinction” means the wetland is one of the country’s most ecologically sensitive landscapes, and exhibits exemplary function and service.

fishing event where you'll get to try catching fish three different ways from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anglers 18 and older will need a fishing license to
participate.
Remember to register your off-road vehicle with BMV
Hoosiers who own off-road vehicles (ORVs) purchased after Dec. 31, 2009 must register those ORVs through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV).
The registration law applies regardless of whether the ORV is driven on public or private land, although there are a few exceptions.
Deer reduction zone season begins Sept. 15
Deer reduction zones, previously called urban zones, give hunters opportunities to harvest deer in defined urban areas and along portions of Indiana highways, in addition to statewide bag limits.
A deer reduction zone license is required, except for resident youth with a valid youth combination hunt/trap license or for lifetime comprehensive hunting license holders.
