IAC launches new artist services website

The Indiana Arts Commission has launched a new artist services website where artists can find helpful information to assist them with funding opportunities, learning resources, inspiration, and connections to further their creative pursuits. This new online portal will help you advance your career, reach new audiences, explore new creative learning opportunities, and get answers to frequently asked questions. Important IAC deadlines approaching for artists

Creative artists and entrepreneurs interested in learning ways to enhance their business skills have a limited time to apply for the 2019 On-Ramp accelerator program. The Indiana Arts Commission is accepting applications through January 17, 2019.

Applications are also open for the next cycle of Individual Advancement Program grants from the Arts Commission. Artists may request up to $2,000 in support of projects that will help advance their careers and have public benefit. The deadline to apply for the Individual Advancement Program is 4:30 p.m. (EST) February 7, 2019.


Work of 19 Hoosier artisans earn Indiana Artisan designation

Functional and decorative art, as well as savory and sweet foods became part of the Indiana Artisan brand giving their makers the distinction of ranking among the best in Indiana. Experts in all aspects of art, fine craft and food served on panels that reviewed applications from Indiana's highest-quality artists and food producers. Art panels were a balance of professionals with insight into art and fine craft, including artists and craftspeople, art educators, and museum staff. Artists and craftspeople selected include:

Online video forum helps artists become civically engaged

The U.S. Department of Arts and Culture (USDAC) has launched Citizen Artist Salons, online video-based gatherings and learning calls that deepen dialogue on specific themes and allow promising projects, ideas, and possibilities to circulate through the USDAC network. Each Citizen Artist Salon features guest presenters, open space for group conversation, and highlights opportunities for action and connection. Learn more.


Indianapolis to host 2019 Indiana Arts Homecoming

The Indiana Historical Society will be the host venue for the 2019 Indiana Arts Homecoming. The statewide convening of artists, arts administrators, arts educators, advocates and community leaders will be October 24-25, 2019.

The theme for the 2019 Arts Homecoming is Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access: Arts for All. The conference will explore what "Arts for All" means in practice. Learn more.
