Three new cultural districts approved by Arts Commission

Cultural districts in three Indiana communities received official state designation earlier this month from the Indiana Arts Commission.

The latest designated Statewide Cultural Districts include:

  • Nickel Plate District, Fishers, Indiana
  • NoCo Arts and Cultural District, Jeffersonville, Indiana
  • Terre Haute Arts & Cultural District, Terre Haute, Indiana

These communities join Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District, Carmel Art and Design District, Columbus Arts District, Madison Arts and Cultural District, Nashville Arts and Entertainment District, Noblesville Cultural Arts District, and Tippecanoe Arts and Cultural District (Lafayette / West Lafayette) in receiving the official designation. IAC approves Arts in the Parks & Historic Sites grants

Grants for 73 projects in the 2019 Arts in the Parks and Historic Sites program were approved recently by the Indiana Arts Commission.

The 73 grants, totaling $213,385.90 were approved by the Commission during its December 7, 2018 Quarterly Business Meeting in Carmel, Indiana. Learn more.


Organization grant program applications are open

The Indiana Arts Commission has posted program guidelines on the agency's website for Arts Organizations Support and Arts Project Support grants for the upcoming fiscal year. Applications for those grant programs are also currently open. The Commission approved revisions to its program guidelines during the December 7, 2018 Quarterly Business Meeting in Carmel, Indiana. AOS II, AOS I, and APS applicants in Region 7 will make their applications directly to the Arts Commission for the upcoming fiscal year.
