State Poet Laureate 'scores' Big Ten Network interview

Most of us have become accustomed to "firsts" and "new records" in the sports world, but it is a rather rare occurrence when the world of art and sport come together in one place. Yet such was the case recently when the Big Ten Network spent time interviewing Indiana's recently selected State Poet Laureate, Adrian Matejka. They talked about his vision for the program, the impact Indiana has had on his life, and the balance between his own work and now serving as the state's "poetry ambassador." Read more.


Don't miss the Individual Advancement Program deadline

Indiana artists have until 4:30 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 to submit an application for the IAC's Individual Advancement Program. New this year, artists who have been pursuing their career for less than five years can opt in to the Early Career category. These applications will be paneled separately from those artists with more career experience. You can review the grant program guidelines here to learn more about the program. IAP grant recipient announces film screenings

Indiana filmmaker, and former IAP grant recipient Josh Riedford has announced upcoming screenings of the film Bullitt County, which was the subject of his IAP grant project. The film was completed last fall and was an official selection at the Austin Film Festival in October. Riedford's film will have its first Indiana screening at 9:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Irving Theatre, Indianapolis, Indiana, and the second screening will be 7 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Flix Brewhouse, Carmel, Indiana. The On-Ramp Accelerator is designed for artists and creatives looking to energize their business thinking, whether they are starting new, looking to deepen their business understanding, or find themselves at a professional crossroads. The accelerator will give artists business skills, professional coaching for their business plans or career goals, new connections with potential Indiana supporters, partners or collaborators, and access to special funds to take them to the next level. Have session or creative content for Arts Homecoming 2018?

The second annual Indiana Arts Homecoming will be October 18 - 19, 2018 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The theme for the annual convening with be Quality of Place for a Vibrant Indiana, and will explore the broad role the arts play in community development, the intersection with economic development, and the impact for the state. The Indiana Arts Commission is accepting proposals for session content as well as creative content for the event. Learn more.
