The Indiana Arts Commission has launched On-Ramp, an accelerator program for creatives who are looking to rev up their business thinking. Whether they are starting something new, looking to deepen their business understanding or at a professional crossroads, On-Ramp has something valuable for them. On-Ramp will give creatives new connections, a plan, coaching, and access to special funds to make it happen. Learn more here.

Curious how tax reform will impact you as an artist?

You may well have been asking yourself about the impact federal tax reform may have on you as an individual artist. Elaine Grogan Luttrull, author of Arts & Numbers: a Financial Guide for Artists, Writers, Performers, and Other Members of the Creative Class has an online summary Taxes: It's Going to Be Okay highlighting some of the key changes in tax law for 2018 impacting the taxes you file in 2019. Elaine will play a major role in the Arts Commission's On-Ramp accelerator program.

Adrian Matejka chosen as next Indiana State Poet Laureate

Adrian Matejka, Bloomington, Indiana, has been selected as the new Indiana State Poet Laureate. A graduate of Pike High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, Indiana University Bloomington, and the MFA program at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Matejka is the Ruth Lilly Professor / Poet-in-Residence at Indiana University in Bloomington. Apply soon for Individual Advancement Program grants

Formerly known as the Individual Artist Program, the Indiana Arts Commission has fine tuned the program to expand the reach for artists, and also offer an early career category serving artists who have been pursuing their art careers for less than five years, excluding formal or apprenticeship in their discipline.
